Which Is More Important – Higher RAM Size Or Powerful Battery In A Smartphone?

RAM and battery capacity are directly related to each other. What it essentially means is that if all other factors and features of two phones are unchanged, and the only variables are RAM size and battery capacity, then a phone with larger RAM, such as an 8GB RAM smartphone will consume more battery compared to the one with lesser RAM size.

But at the same time, there are many complex factors to be taken into account when it comes to prioritizing RAM or battery, one of the most important ones being how the device is actually used. If the device is not used a lot and is on standby, idling most of the time, then a powerful battery will be more useful than a higher RAM.

On the other hand, if the device is used heavily every day, higher RAM size will be more beneficial, as it can keep heavier apps running in the background, and load them quicker. More memory also means lower page faults which in turn means that the CPU won’t take time in exchanging data between RAM and flash memory. You can find excellent phones under 30,000 INR with 8GB RAM, such as OnePlus Nord, that will work well for you.

Also, note that if you have a lot of apps running in the background, it can significantly affect the RAM and battery usage. If that is the case, then your device will be efficient with higher RAM size and will in turn be power efficient. This will, again, be due to the CPU not needing to go back and forth between RAM and flash memory for data swapping.

It is important to take into account your device usage, in terms of what you use your phone for and how you use it, to make a decision on higher RAM size and battery capacity.
